Why We Went
We first discovered this park a couple of years ago, and I noticed they’ve made some updates since our last visit, like the umbrella-style shade structures that were added over the toddler area, and misting machines were installed, which caught my attention. It felt like the right time to go back and give it another try.
What We Loved
Parking is easy and stress-free. The parking lot is never packed (I’ve only ever seen about 5 cars max)
The parking lot is right near a pavilion and bathrooms, perfect for eating before or after playtime
Rubber surface (not mulch!) is a big win, especially for little falls
The layout is thoughtful. A smaller toddler area (5 and under) greets you as you enter, with shade umbrellas making it bearable on hot days
The misting machines are on summer days. There’s even shaded seating right by them, so you can relax while your kids cool off
The larger play structure (for 5–12) is engaging but still usable for smaller kids. My little ones could enjoy almost everything but the tallest slides
Extra features like musical bells, swings, and separate activity panels help break up play and keep interest high
Surprisingly, this park has never been crowded during our visits even on nice days
There’s a walking path for strollers and plenty of green space next to the playground, so if your kid is a runner, they’ll likely head to the field, not the parking lot
Friendly moms and an overall safe, watchful atmosphere
A pop-up vendor (like Kona Ice) is sometimes there on Tuesdays during lunch hours. Nice option if you want to treat the kids
There’s a book-sharing library, and plenty of perimeter seating throughout the park
The park was clean and well-maintained
Not buggy at all (no gnats or flies!)
Things to Know Before You Go
• This park is not gated, but the layout helps. It’s set far enough from the parking area that it doesn’t feel risky
• There are a few blind spots, especially if one child is in the toddler area and another is on the big slide or in the swings. You’ll want to plan your positioning
• The vendor's food is not free. It’s just a nice bonus, so bring money if your kids ask
• The only fully shaded play area equipment is the toddler section at the entrance. The rest of the park is more open, so plan for sun protection
• I didn’t inspect the bathrooms this time, but they’re typically clean like the ones at Winding Hill Park South
Mom Tips
• For a peaceful, nearly private park experience, go between 12 PM and 3 PM on hot days. Most people avoid the heat, but with the misters and umbrella shade, it’s manageable
• Bring a towel or a change of clothes if your kids are mist lovers. They’ll be running through them over and over
• Perfect for mixed ages, toddlers and bigger kids can both enjoy different sections
• Bring a snack and post up near the shaded pavilion or the misting station
• If your usual parks feel overrun lately, this one feels like a hidden gem with just the right mix of play, peace, and convenience
